General Committee Hussna Jahan Email: hussna@networkbangla.co.uk Hussna is currently studying Medicine at Queen Mary University of London. She was the President of the Queen Mary Bengali Society for the year 2006-7, leading a team in organising various events, that included fundraising. As a member of the General Committee, Hussna plans to employ her extensive organisational skills to further the Bengali community. Hussna enjoys eating out, and is known as the person to go to for recommendations of top culinary places in London!
Jabed Rahman Email: jabed@networkbangla.co.uk Jabed is a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. He studied Government and Economics at London Guildhall University; he subsequently pursued a sponsored PhD in Town Planning (Innovation and Economic Growth) obtained from the Bartlett School of Planning, University College London. He studied under the supervision of Professor Sir Peter Hall, an eminent academic in the field of urbanism and city planning. Jabed was recently employed as a Projects Co-ordinator at Newham Council dealing with development projects in the Lower Lea Valley (the area incorporates the Olympic site, Stratford Town and Stratford City, West Ham, Canning Town down to the banks of the River Thames). He now works on behalf of the health sector in London to facilitate engagement in the urban planning/regeneration agenda for London. Jabed has been involved in community activities for over a decade, firstly as Treasurer of the Camden Federation of Tenants. He then co-established Somers Town Multi-Cultural Association in order to help bridge the divide between various communities in the area after racial tensions. Later he helped co-found the Kings Cross Community Development Trust to enable local people to benefit from regeneration through community capacity building.
Zubair Ahmed Email: zubair@networkbangla.co.uk Zubair Ahmed, a graduate from the University of Gloucestershire with BA honours in Business Finance Management, currently works for an IT company that specialise in an award winning ticketing solution of which he plays an integral role. Zubair has always been described as being very reliable, hard working and dedicated by his peers during his academic years. Through his confidence and dynamic social skills Zubair hopes to increase the awareness of Network Bangla and help them achieve new heights. As a member of Network Bangla’s Senior Committee and based in the Midlands Zubair hopes to utilise his knowledge and contacts to help the organisation become nationally recognised. Another passionate Liverpool fan, keeps himself healthy by playing sports and going to the gym. Very much a family orientated person who loves going to concerts even if it is an expensive habit! |
