Birmingham Meet & Greet

On Sunday 17th May, 2009, Network Bangla, held a long awaited event in Birmingham. The Meet & Greet however, differed to NB.s previous events in Birmingham like Lal Shobuj, as this was of a more informal, intimate nature.
The Red Couch Café, in Erdington, was a great venue to provide a relaxed Sunday afternoon. Despite the drab and dreary weather outside, the atmosphere inside was buzzing! Indeed it was an afternoon of networking between groups of professionals and students alike from the Birmingham area, including Wolverhampton and Tipton but some also from Bedford, a little further afield. The guests included some old faces to the NB family but a large number were first time guests of NB. People varied from financial analysts to graphic designers and youth workers, with a couple of students thrown in to the mix!
There was also a quiz held, allowing guests to show off their general knowledge skills whilst working within a team, with some in frenzy over the hotly debated question of the two main ingredients of mocha! The interaction between the guests who had met each other for first time was great with many demanding more NB events in Birmingham!
Similar to the London NB Meet & Greet, held earlier at the beginning of this year in January the event was a huge success! This was not only in terms of it being a sell out, but also notably in that we had to be kicked out well after the event was scheduled to end as we were all reluctant to leave, having had such a lovely time!
