Free Advice Clinic

Network Bangla is launching a new Advice Clinic in Tower Hamlets this month, offering FREE professional legal, health and educational advice. The pilot session will be held on Sunday 31st January, from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

Based at the Shahjalal Community Centre on Duckett Street, the free surgery will provide a service to those unable to pay for legal advice in areas such as immigration and family law and to those unaware of how to approach and deal with concerns regarding health and the education of their children beyond secondary school.

The aim of the Advice Clinic is to help people identify issues and provide some initial advice and guidance on appropriate next steps. As well as providing advice, the Clinic will also promote and raise awareness of some existing community organisations and services available to all. Should the pilot session go well, Network Bangla hopes to make the service available regularly.

The scheme, supported by Councillor Abdal Ullah, is a great opportunity for the community to benefit from the professional skills of Network Bangla members.

Network Bangla believes it is up to the professionals of today to support and deliver voluntary services in order to inform and aid the older generation and our community. Members of Network Bangla will therefore provide the advice at the clinic with the support of many volunteers.

“We want to offer personal and social support to our parents’ generation, give them an opportunity to obtain sound knowledge and a grasp of some of the areas that affect their lives the most,” says Dr Koyes, director of Network Bangla, and a qualified doctor who will be providing a free health check on the day.

Network Bangla is keen to encourage the younger generation to use the skills they acquire as professionals to assist the community. To access the free service please turn up on the day.
