About Network Bangla

Network Bangla is an organisation which has been created to address the networking opportunities available within our community. We follows a social capital framework where groups of people with a common interest help each other out, and by doing so, contribute to both economic and greater societal gains. Network Bangla aims to promote its services, support networking, and celebrate the achievements and success stories of its members.

Network Bangla recognises the dual culture of British Bengalis and endeavours to use this as a platform to build cross-cultural links and to promote Bengali traditions and heritage inside and outside the community.

What makes Network Bangla different to many other networking organisations is its target audience. Rather than just focusing on professionals, Network Bangla is open to students, non-professionals and professionals – with one of its key aims being to build bridges between these different demographics in society.

The goal is to build an unrivalled network by holding regular events – enriching the community through business functions, educational projects, seminars and workshops, and working closely with charities to make a positive difference.

Network Bangla embraces diversity and despite its name, is open to everyone – regardless of race, religion or background. All our members are encouraged to participate, get involved with our events and take a keen interest in what we have to offer.

Network Bangla was conceptualised in November 2006, and now already boasts a thriving internet community, with thousands of monthly hits on its website, and an ever-growing number of members on its forum. The organisation hopes to drive with initiative and utilise its unique talent pool for the gain of the community. Already running a mentoring scheme, Network Bangla plans to advance its scope and work with charities, both home and abroad to make a positive difference.

With a strong presence in London, it is hoped that various branches would be created with its own committees, in a number of the major cities in the UK. In its short duration, Network Bangla has already made some key contacts within various sectors, and it continues to practice its networking ethics as an organisation to further its presence in the Bengali community. Already having meetings with influential business leaders and politicians, Network Bangla is determined to make a change to the community in which we live.
